Teen Programs

MINECRAFTERS  -  Wed., July 6  @ 2 PMmcicon

For grades 2-12. The library has a Minecraft server! Visit the Children's Dept. and fill out a form to be granted access (whitelisted). Join other super-fans to show off your build skills, trade ideas, and work as a team! There will be prize drawings of Minecraft items, and snacks will be provided. ZENTANGLE FOR T(W)EENS   -  Wed., July 6 & July 13  @ 6 PMHP-tile12

For grades 5 and up. Take your doodles to another level! Certified Zentangle Instructor Kelley Kelly teaches the basics of this fun, meditative art. No matter your artistic ability, you'll enjoy learning new techniques that have been proven to help increase focus and creativity. Supplies provided. Space is limited. Registration required, begins June 29 for the July 6th session and July 6 for the July 13th session.  You are not required to come to both programs - but you can if you want to! For grades 6 and up. Meet our new robots! The Sphero and BB-8 robots are multipurpose tools for learning, exploring, and playing. Anyone who would like to come try out the original app-enabled Sphero ball or the BB8 Droid will get a chance to use them using our iPads. Snacks provided! Registration is encouraged. DANCE MOB!  -  Mondays, Aug. 1 & 8 and Tuesday, Aug. 16 @ 6 PM; Thursday, Aug. 18 @ 5:30 PM

For teens, adults and children in grades 2 and up. Be a part of a flash mob! Instructor Sharyn Farrell of Dancealife will conduct 3 rehearsals at the library, culminating in a performance at the New Britain Museum of American Art on Aug. 18. We promise that that choreography will be easy enough for everyone to learn! Everyone will receive a T-Shirt to commemorate the event. Registration is required, begins July  25.
