He lived on the corner opposite his father (his father's house has since been torn down) but was at that time the 25th building from the north end of Worthington Ridge). His father deeded him property at 1801 Wilbur Cross Highway, ca. 1830. He lived there for 15 years and sold it to Samuel Mathewson.
He made shoes which he sold in New York, employing 10-12 men and in winter carried the shoes to market on a sleigh. He is listed in the Postmaster's letter (microfilm) Sept. 1839 and 1840.
